SHINE Family History
This interesting surname is of Irish origin, and is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic "O'Seighin", composed of the elements "O", male descendant of, and "Seighin", a personal name, which is probably from the Old Irish "seigene", small hawk. Traditionally, Irish family names are taken from the heads of tribes, revered elders, or from some illustrious warrior, and are usually prefixed by "O", grandson, male descendant, or "M(a)c", denoting "son of". Shine is a Munster name, mainly located in Counties Cork and Kerry.Select Audience

Gareth Shine
Iโve started doing family tree aswell, surname shine from limerick.. interesting that your fathers middle names Christopher.. as my grandfathers middle name is Christopher as well, Thomas Christopher Shine but still to find the Christopher he was named after... his father was James and his father before Micheal then it gets abit mixed up as thereโs another Micheal Shine born 1844 similar area so getting abit stuck there, if I come across a link Iโll post again..
Chris Dommersnes
My Christopher John Dommersnes name after John Christopher first son of Patrick Edward shine son of John Christopher shine born 1932
Khara Shine
My name is Khara Shine, daughter of Damien Christopher Shine (born 18 February 1947), granddaughter of John Shine, who married Marcella Carey. My family are from Dublin, but i have always wanted to try and build my Shine family tree. I hoped to do it for my fatherโs 70th, but failed using Ancestry and other public resources. My father is now 73 and i would really love to try and figure out the connections. I now live in NZ, so any connections from my family to Shineโs here could also be interesting.
