Louisa Donovan
Angie Purkiss. I have Donovans who came from Rosscarbery, Cork in the 1820โs. One of them went to Garryowen around 1838, then moved to St. Louis, MO. He was visited by Dennis Mahony (also from Rosscarbery), Bishop Loras, and the BVM sisters when they moved from Philadelphia to start a parish in Garryowen. Dennis Mahony stayed in Garryowen and ran a newspaper. HIs daughter, Mary Lucy Mahony married a Donovan son from St. Louis.
Randa Phillips
Angie Purkiss, I think I remember you from a MyHeritage conversation. Your description is similar to ours except that I can't quite fit our ancestor (Ira Dail Donovan) with it. 1840's, immigrated with at least 2 brothers--but I can accept more siblings. Ira's son James who was born in New York married in 1861 near Dubuque, Iowa. (Butler County) Do you know anything about Jeremiah?
SMS
To Randa Phillips: there is a Jeremiah Donovan listed in the Richard Donovan family website; however, he is identified as Richard and Honora O'Brien Donovan's son.

I am looking for Donovan cousins.
The earliest information I have is:
Four brothers and two sisters came from County Cork to the United States in the early 1840's. They were Cornelius, Jeremiah, Richard, Dennis, Mrs. Henry Mahoney, and Mrs. Jack Culligan.
Richard was my 3rd great grandfather. He settled in Garryowen, Dubuque, Iowa.
I am searching for the relatives of the other five brothers and sisters. I believe they arrived in the U.S. via New York but have no clue where any of them settled.
